TRUTH! Expires: Never

I talk fast because I’m afraid to hear
the truth from anybody else
Perhaps if I’m the first to say it
it’ll hurt less
or lose significance
or be less true
as if truth has an expiration date
and it works the opposite way

Catch it at the get-go
make it a murder and you can slice
a new beginning
god knows
you’ve got enough air
to last another 5 minutes

Truth is not easily accepted by many as they say it can hurt. But the fact that it does hurt only proves we are doing something wrong and God convicts us of His truth, which still holds true for believers and unbelievers alike!

I am a fan of grasping truth, but it is hard to hold onto…

  • I don’t know. Sometimes it feels a bit as if it’s holding on to ME, and I can’t escape it. But then again, some truths do fall from me like water, however much I want to hold them steady and look at them properly.

    wow… love that..
esp the first few lines .. very interesting the way we do that sometimes
    nice writing

  • The first two lines are my favourite too. They were what I based the entire poem on. And I’m glad you like it :)

Truth can expire when knowledge of something is revised or rendered obsolete. Truth doesn’t die, it merely evolves and adapts to changing circumstances. Very nice piece by the way. :)
