Lost

I wrote this about 18 years ago, prompted by a memory of ‘losing’ my mother while sightseeing in London. Mind you, I was in my 20s at the time. :)

First, calm searching;
Then, slight concern, growing ever less slight as the minutes pass;
Then, something approaching panic;
Then, splendid relief as I spot her a block away.

Sigh…
