I think it works better on the lorikeet shot than the chaffinch (didn’t even know you had those in NZ, they seem such a quintessentially British bird to me!) because of the bold colours, they already look like someone’s painted them! (And it’s a shot that’s crying out for a caption, isn’t it? ;-D) It certainly makes them more vivid. The only downside I can think of is that the filter seems to take out the featheriness and finer detail. But on the whole, I reckon this is a great way to present the subject! :-D
