An Aussie Snipe Fly in Macro (1) by

Part of an ongoing series…I GOT THE BUG.
This weekend ( Dec.8. 2012 ) I spent some time with the Lal Lal Photographic Group members for a Bar B Q at Ballarat here in Victoria, Australia….
When I was there a challenge was set to go and see who could take the best Macro of a bug…
This was my very first meeting with this group, so I thought I would join in and have some fun…..Well I tried and this was one of the best that I could find at the time,…… it’s a Snipe Fly..Chrysopilus sp.
so I will hopefully get better …
Thanks guys for a great time.and will see you all again.
This one you must click on image to enlarge and to appreciate the detail.

Taken with a Panasonic Lumix G2 camera using a Leica DG Macro – Elmarit 1:2.8/45 Four Thirds lens… ( Taken as is )

I play Blues Harmonica and Bodhran’ in my spare time, as well as getting involved with Genealogy and Medieval History,
I have also been acting for 40 years and was lucky to be cast as a judge in the movie “Stricly Ballroon”…
But my camera is my passion.

That is one fabulous Macro…an Aussie fly! :-)

  • You should have seen what won the challenge on the day… it was
a Jaw Dropping shot of a Wasp’s Head.

I would say you did quite well. Love the detail on this one.

  • It’s one of those that you have to click on to , to be able to see it enlarged.
We take so much for granted.
Now I’m going back out into the garden….
