This macro image of a waterlily was taken on the lake In the Garden of Japan in Singapore.
The lake was nearly totally covered by these amazing large flowers.
The Japanese Garden’s is a half hour train journey out of the CBD, but once you get there it takes you the whole day to walk around and take it in, as it is divided into Japan and China.. Well worth the trip…

Taken with a Panasonic Lumix G2 using a Leica DG Macro – Elmarit
1:2.8/45mm Four Thirds lens, with just a touch of HDR ( x2)….
Post Op done on Picasa 3.

Beautiful waterlily Larry – I had to read your description to learn what it was !

  • As you know, sometimes when you look a bit deeper things can look totally different…
That’s one of the things that photography has given me,,,,, an appreciation for looking deeper.

    Wow! This is amazing Larry.

  • If you open your hands and spread your fingers apart then place them together to form a bowl, then that’s about how big each flower was…

I like this one more…I can see the flower better…I should get some of those in my ponds here !! :-)

  • Once you place them in a pot with soil, make sure you place sand on the top of the soil before you submerge them, otherwise all the soil will float to the surface…
