This is the 6th image in a set.
This image I took was one of many of this magnificent monument that is found on Omaha Beach in Normandy France. which was erected to honor the fallen on this beach during WWII.
One cannot stand and look at this beach without having a tear…….
Think about it, 2,400 casualties at Omaha – 34,000 troops had been landed by the end of the day on this blooded beach. and that’s not to mention the casualties on the adjoining beaches……
100,000 vehicles and 600,000 men were landed, and 93,000 casualties were evacuated, via Omaha Beach……..
I took this early in the morning as the sun was coming up and just after a shower had past….. Click here if you want to read about this historic time in this worlds history….

Stunning light and colour in this great work.
