This is Morton Castle which I took on one of my castle hunts.
.
Built in the 13 century this fantastic ruins is located on a small hill beside an artificial loch and has a courtyard in the centre.
It lies 2.5 miles north-east of Thornhill in Dumfries /Galloway and is not far from Drumlanrig Castle Estate & Country Park.
The surrounding scenery and architectural remains makes this a must for any visitor.
Click here if you would like to read its history.
Taken with a Pentax 35mm camera and later scanned with post op done on Picasa3 and DynamicPhoto HDR.
