Located on the River Clyde in South Lanarkshire, Scotland New Lanark was founded in 1786 by David Dale, who built cotton mills and housing for the mill workers.
He basically changed the future with his system of schooling, housing, work ethics and the spinning industry.
This image I took some years ago on one of my holidays, and shows some of the housing which was built for the workers who lived on the site…Click here if you want to read about its history.
Taken with a Pentax 35mm then scanned.
I tried to give it a lithograph feel so I used Picasa3 and DynamicPhoto HDR.
