Set in the Gold Mining Era of early Australia in the mid 1800’s, it is a trip back in time with the Cobb & Co Stagecoach being the main source of transport between Melbourne and Ballarat.
..
This is what my Great Grandparents would have seen when they arrived in Ballarat in 1866 to try there hand after being shipwrecked and needing something to help them begin a new future…Click"here":http://www.redbubble.com/people/cullodenmist/wr...

Ive never been to sovereign hill and I so want to go but isn’t it expensive to get in
nice shot
Well it can be expensive if you look at it in certain terms…?
I paid about $32:00 concession but I spent the whole day there.
How much do you put on a whole days entertainment ???
Some people pay hundreds of dollars for a 2 hour concert and they’re stuck up the back and can’t see a thing.
Even at full price I would have paid it for the value that you get…
Make the effort and go, if you get the chance…
You won’t be sorry.

Great nostalgic shot. I like the Edinburgh Boot & Shoe Mart next to the Southsea oil company:-)
This was the time of the Scottish migration to Australia… which included my G.G.Grandmother and family from Edinburgh.
Yes it is nostalgic…. especially for me, as my ancestors
were there in 1866.

I must say that the link to my G.Grandparents from Enfield in England and my G.G.Grandmother from Edinburgh are totally different.
One lot emigrated in 1866 where the other lot emigrated in 1848.

I’m sure it was a pretty special visit. I can just imagine you with your camera like a wee lad in a sweety shop. Kasia
I was and I am still.
Thanks wee lassie for understanding.

Thanks mate.
Glad you like it.

nice processing – makes a good shot – even better!
I think it’s the overlay that makes it.
Without it, it was a bit bland.

Thanks mate.
I can see that you are into Australiana as well, so I take your words as a compliment.
I still have a lot more to come…..

I think your right and if I came away with jsut one shot I’d be happy :))
As I said… You won’t be sorry.
And make the most of the whole day, as it will take you a lot of time to get around and see everything.
Don’t go on weekends as every one will be there.
Try and get there through the week when less public are there.. you’re images will end up more authentic….?

What a great shot! Love the selective colouring and overall treatment you’ve given this, mate! Superb work!!!
I want them to stand out.
But I don’t want them to look anything like your technique… whatever that may be.
As I have said over the past, I am still searching for that something…?
