This is Conwy Castle which is located in Northern Wales, and which I took on one of my visits.
Construction of Conwy began in 1283, and was an important part of King Edward I’s plan of surrounding Wales in “an iron ring of castles” to subdue the rebellious population of that period.
You have to remember that the suspension bridge, which is the lighter section in the right half of the frame, was added later, and was not a part of the original building.
