This famous street “The Shambles”, is located just across from the Cathedral in York. England.
And the shops are to die for. ( as is the whole city )
The City of York would have to be one of my favourite places on this earth.
York was settled by the Vikings, and they are still there to this day….( best viewed enlarged.)

This is Fabulous, I love York, how did you manage a shot without people ?? xx

  • I didn’t.
If you click on the image and enlarge it, you will see some people at the end.
And it was early in the morning.
Our B & B was only minutes away.

love those cobblestone streets ;) xoxox

  • The story is that, each overhang was so close that peolple used to touch each other from side to side.
Also, the waste and urine, and left-overs was tipped out into the streets from above and just washed away by the rain.
It was such a shamble, that this is where it gets its name.
