This was taken back in 1998, when I went to visit the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland…This was truly a remarkable location because at any time, tourists could fall over the edge… Standing on the very edge with only inches between you and the massive drop into the ocean, certainly got my adrenalin rush going…! ( and there was no safety railing… nothing )

    Fabulous capture Larry.

  • Thanks so much Bunnykins… It’s an oldie which I uploaded for the cover image of a challenge in my group Best of British… as not to many members have been to the Aran Islands, that I can see…
So, part of a challenge is to go through all your old stuff and see what you can find… And that’s exactly what I did to find this one…. I also found hundreds more which I had forgotten about…!!!

    Very impressive Larry!!!

  • Thanks Lorraine….. I’m glad you like this one.
    .
I have literally thousands like this one, but they are all prints, and I just can’t be bothered scanning them all…
It was good because we had nothing else… But now that we are in the age of digital, I have lost the passion for 35mm prints…!

    Kind regards
    Francis

  • Glad you like it Francis…
Even though this was originally a 35mm taken with a Pentax, I still think that the Pentax was one of the best camera’s ever…

    A spectacular image Larry !

  • It was worth the trip just for this experience.
But I have never seen so much rock as there was in this place….!
They get 10 out of 10 just to see them living there and growing there vegetables within the rock.
    .
I have a B & W Doco – movie titled “Man of Aran” that was made in 1934, and now I have full appreciation of it.
