Masts of Metal. by Larry Lingard-Davis

As it is coming up to the Tall Ships Gathering I went back to Williamstown for more images..
This image is of the SSS Steve Irwin, with the SSS Sea Shepherd & the SSS Sam Simon all moored at the Workmans Pier in Williamstown, here in Melbourne.
Every weekend until the end of August, you can get on board and have a FREE ships tour.
All of these ships try to stop whaling and have so far saved the lives of 932 from the Japanese Whaling Fleet during the 2012 – 2013 Antarctic Whaling Season. Click HERE
So, between these 3 magnificent ships and the Gathering of Tall Ships in September it is all happening here in Melbourne Australia at the moment..

Here is another image from the other end of the pier..

This is definitely an ’ I mean Business ’ photo Larry – Great POV ! I hope you are behind team NZ in the America’s Cup – please donate any spare shackles or battery packs you might have. If you’ve been following it you will know what I mean…..! Ah, seeing as half the crew on ’ Oracle ’ are Aussies, maybe you are following them…..?

  • That and the Sydney to Hobart…… I love it…
The next time you see this pier it will have the Tall Ships….
I hope to be there for a sunrise behind the masts…. Only 3 weeks to go.
