Located in the gardens of The Priory of “St.Pancras” which is found in the town of Lewes in the south of England, this is a reminder of the battle that was fought on May 14. 1264 between King Henry III and barons led by Simon de Montfort….
During excavations to lay the railway line in 1845, a large burial ground was discovered at the Priory containing hundreds of bodies from the battle.
Thank God my ancestors survived the Battles and the Plagues that scourged England, so I could be here to appreciate their history and survival.
