Larry Davis

My First Video Of Images.

After seeing the video’s that
David Parkin *Click here! has been publishing, I have been inspired by him to get myself involved and create some for myself.
So here is my very first Video / Slideshow of some of my work.
Titled “Memories of the Mornington Peninsula and the Sea”, it is all my own work.
A lot of the images you may remember from the Red Bubble Meet we had at Sorrento.
So before I take on another RB members work, I would like your feedback to see if you approve ????
I hope you enjoy what I have done…

Pics are great Larry! Like to see it without all the different transitions – maybe just fade out/in transition? Well done!

  • Larry Davis replied

    Thanks Reg…
This is the sort of feedback that I need, as I am running blind at the moment.

This is magnificent Larry. I love seeing the images in this format and especially the music chosen completed the whole package. Overall score = perfect!! You should target the local tourist authority to see if they are interested in a copy, the local library, doctor’s surgeries or anyone with a waiting area where people sit (its better than reading a book) or maybe restaurants – excellent work.

  • Larry Davis replied

    Thanks Bev…
I need to do a few before I go off in a tanjent.
I don’t have any of the skills yet to qualify me to do those sorts or things yet….
As it is, I am doing it to share amongst my friends like you.

    Great work Larry !!!
I didn’t know Dawn could sing like that ;-)
I agree with Reg, stick with fade in and out for the transitions, but apart from that, it’s great !

  • Larry Davis replied

    No that isn’t Dawn…
It’s Karen Matheson & Davey Spillane.
You might remember her when she sang the songs in the movie “Rob Roy” with Liam Neeson.
    And thanks for the advice.
Every bit is taken with sincere thanks.

you’re first? wow very nice Larry (smile) btw what software are you using to make you videos with? am curious .. would like to do a one myself if I can find the software …

  • Larry Davis replied

I have had it on my PC from day one and never new it was there.
    Windows Movie Maker.
    It’s all part of Windows.
And once you fiddle around and read how to do it, you then upload the end result onto You Tube.
So tomorrow I am going to start another one.
I downloaded a converter program AVS4 to covert the video’s onto Vimeo, which is an alternative to You Tube, but I don’t think you really need it.
The way that I am doing it seems to be the easiest.

Great work Larry. I do also agree with Reg and Jared on the transitions. K.I.S. (thought I’d leave the last S off) I have just done one for my trip down the lakes sailing. Haven’t shown anyone yet. I have a Mac so I use imovie and idvd. just looked at Vimeo. looks like a good alternative to You Tube. Quality is better. Looking forward to your next one.

It’s great. You’ve done a brill job. Have you checked out any of the Geelong Throng ones I’ve posted? I used Pinnacle Studio but for all its features it’s buggier than a bed full of fleas….. Now I’m on Mac, my nextun will probably be via FinalCutExpress…..

You did a great job and your photos are fab, but the quality is blurry and colors seemed faded. You Tube is known for poor quality.

  • Larry Davis replied

    Thanks Steph.
Well in that case, it looks like I might have to look more seriously and go with “Vimeo”..
    I can’t fault David Parkin’s video’s.
