To Wet The Appetite on the Merri
This is a forerunner of my newest series. ( over the next coming week )
I took this sunrise this morning on May 29th at the Merri Creek in Fawkner, which is a northern suburb of Melbourne Australia.
It was about 7:30am with the cold mist still rising and the sun shining through the mist.
I ended up with over 100 images, so now I have to filter down through the best.
I am going to include the word Merri in each title, so-as to keep the series together.
( hdr x2 images using Dynamic-PhotoHDR with Picasa3 as Post Op )

What a spectacular way to start the day Larry. Fantastic work with the hdr
Larry Davis replied
Thanks mate.
But the HDR didn’t make that much difference to what it really was like.
I love HDR but I don’t like it to be to heavy. As I feel it can take something away from what it really is like.
This is why I just use it as a toner more than anything…...
~ Ademac
Great capture…...................love the framing and tonal quality
Wendy Slee
I am still around, just keeping a bit quiet…...life has kept me very busy….. thanks for the favourite sheila comment LOL…you made my day! As for your beautiful image here…..the funny thing is, I have been working on a very similar image (just more gold than this one) for an exhibiton….... not sure whether I will put it on RB yet, but we seem to have been drawn to the same beautiful images this week….. KERPLUNK – do I need to say more? LOL!!! There is a group called, “Just Brown,” that this would fit perfectly into and also one that I think is called “Sun Beams or Sun Rays.” Way to go on a beautifully captured shot – fantastic Lar!! xoxo!! :))
Larry Davis replied
Hi PP.
It can’t be called Just Brown or Rays, because I have also some greenish ones in this series as well.
I think you will like the Wattle tree leaves with the frost.
So I have shuffled them up to break the monotony of them being the same.
Thanks for the KERPLUNKING…..
Bev Woodman

Larry Davis replied

Sensational!!! i go to the Merri Creek around Darebin and Fairfield, but haven’t been around it at a time when any shots anywhere near as fantastic as this were possible… Congratulations :)))
Larry Davis replied
Make sure of the weather report.
Try to make it a crisp morning.
Get to where-ever it is you want to be, before the sun comes up.
And for rays like this, make sure you have a lot of low lying mist, preferebly over or near water.
This was on the creek at the very far eatern end of Jukes Rd in Fawkner, beside the walking track.
On the opposite side is at the bottom end of Glasgow Ave in Reservoir.
But I know Darebin, and there are plenty of spots.
Basia McAuley
Simply stunning Larry!! Heavenly!
Larry Davis replied
Hello Basia.
It sure has been a while.
Great to hear from you though.
Glad you like it.
