Barra - Shops & Castle
This is an image that I have dragged out of the shoebox.
It’s a 35mm image of the main street on the Isle of Barra, with Kissimul Castle in Castlebay.
This is where my wife Dawns roots came from, as her maiden name is Dawn Shirley Elizabeth McNeil.
Once here family moved from Barra, they settled in Glasgow, as the whole line of men and women were spinners.
Dawn has been spinning now for 35 years and even dyes her own wool. ( and sells Majacraft Spinning Wheels )

Another beautiful shot Larry and I just love listening to the history. Maybe there’s a need for a family history group out there on Red Bubble.
Larry Davis replied
I don’t think so….
That’s all they need… Another Group.
And definately not genealogy…. It’s far to much and far to big …..
It would become a nightmare…?
I hate to think of what the boys at Scotlands History Group have let themselves in for ?

You’re probably right Larry – it would be pretty complex and hard to keep in line but I have enjoyed your contribution to family history – well done.
