Aaaaaah Montsalvat!
The heart of Australian art!
It beats slowly here in peaceful time
encouraging visions sculpture and rhyme
Once visited never forgotten and your feet long to return
but memories shine brightly and help desire to burn
Soft I dream sweet Montsalvat of living in your grace
and wish my life beyond you happened at your pace
I envy all who live there and all who often visit
but if I lingered longer I would fear I would not treasure it
for we need to suffer the compromise of ugliness and sorrow
to have such beauty encourage us to strive for our tomorrow
~
I see poetry in everything that makes up Montsalvat!
I sang at it’s launch in 1974 and several times throughout the years
My last visit was Spring 1994
Oh how I miss it!

What beautiful words to describe this place
My heart beats faster and puts a smile on my face
When I think of the beauty that I can capture and keep
Just by a click of the lens and a peep
So it is with excitement I wait for the next time to see
those beautiful buildings and textures that are dearest to me.
