Ah! .. Yes, this is Queen of the Night ~ it is superb. I love the treatment you have given it ~ is it HDR? ~ I am just finding out about some interesting effects, like the Orton effect ~ I have a lot to learn.
I have never grown a Queen Cactus but I have seen one recently growing up into a gum tree, they are a little like Orchids [which are my passion] you wait all year for a flower and the grasshoppers get to it before it blooms. To survive 20 years in the same pot, it must be sending it’s roots through the bottom into the earth ~ you are one patient man to wait 20 years for a plant to flower.
It’s great to meet you Larry, I’m off to have lunch, will return to look at your work soon, Helen

This container is at least 2 feet off the ground on bricks, and is still in its original soil. ( I feed it about once every 2 months. )
It has only been flowering for about 5 years now, aqnd the actual length of the growth is about 6 metres long, supported on strands of wire.
The treatment I used is HDR x 2 images, then a post treatment on Picasa3.
