beautiful portrait! lovely boy.

A very nice portrait, but you need to lose the lighlight on the right hand side – it is far too distracting and does not contribute to this very good portrait in any way.
You said to offer critique and advice.

Thanks Des, useful comment, you’re right. Currently I do minimal post processing using Canon EOS Professional but will look to get something like Photoshop, unless you can recommend other software?

I use Photoshop CS3, but an alternative is GIMP 2.6, a freeware package from www.gimp.org. It is a photoshop clone and is very powerful. Most of it functions exactly like Photoshop, and it is certainly worth looking at.

Beautiful portrait! Love the browns in contrast with the red and skin tones. I like the light at the end of the tunnel, without it you wouldn’t know it was a tunnel. Great shot!

Thank you Barbara!

he looks like an adventurer, great place to take this shot….....well done

Kieron Nolan replied
Oh, he’s certainly an adventurer, he doesn’t stand still long enough to take pictures these days! He’s got more testosterone than me at the moment – he’s just started school and he loves it. So many other bigger boys to play with!
