My first camera was a red 110. You could slide a switch and a telephoto lens was then in place! I got that for my 10th birthday and took hundreds of pictures with it.

Then aged 15 I saved up my weekly pocket money to buy an Olympus Superzoom compact camera. I loved the fact that it was so efficient with the film that it could take an extra 2 or 3 shots per roll.

Some years later, when the digital age had already begun, I bought a Canon Powershot. The charm and mystery of waiting for film prints to be developed, wondering what you’d get, was dead forever. I soon got over that when I realised you could take hundreds of pictures and review them instantly.

Now I use a Canon EOS30D with a 17-55mm, a 60mm macro and a 70-200mm.

I love capturing beautiful images. I also love looking at other people’s wonderful work and learning from fellow photographers.
