I liked how the late afternoon light lit up the marram grass which is the builder of sand dunes and gave this scene a nice warm glow even though it was brutal out on this day.

I wanted to climb all the way to the top but the snow combine with the sand become a bit treacherous for this old man and I only made it about a third of the way up LOL.

Nikon D80 Sigma 10-20mm lens used. F14 1/100sec 11mm.

Indiana Dunes State Park, Northwest Indiana Jan 2010.

Thanks for looking.

Fabulous capture and lighting Curtiss!! I don’t think I would have climbed that hill either, I know I would have landed on my face lol.

  • Hello Kate and I almost did a few times but I stopped when I seen that clump of grass and said to myself this will have to do.

Hey Curtiss???? Just read your note to Kate and Tim … if you’re going to keep going out in all this stuff (just for me) … I do recommend YakTrax … they’ll help keep you vertical … which is a good thing. I couldn’t live without them when I’m up at the mountain. Trust momma … she knows best.

  • Thanks Lois I book marked that site and will have to look into those.

Use to truck in the snow like that, but now it would be just my luck to fall face down in the snow, camera and all and you know how the snow and camera would like each other

  • Tim I was also using my tripod to try and keep myself steady LOL, thanks again.
