Coffee or Tea? by Cindy Schnackel

Coffee or Tea? by

Colored pencils, acrylic washes, and coffee stains, on brown Canson drawing paper. 9 × 12 inches. Started out as a random shape brushed on with strong instant coffee. After that I added some of just about everything and came up with this creature who is perhaps inhaling a cup of coffee or tea.

Also available in a calendar. Buyers set the starting month so they are never out of date no matter what month you buy calendars.

As always, feel free to interpret my work as you wish; there is no one right meaning, especially not to something like this.

I don’t really know how to describe the style of my art work in one easy word. Surrealism sometimes applies but not always. They are not quite cartoons, either. At one point I thought I’d found my genre in an art magazine about “outsider art,” but then I learned that I don’t fit that because I have a formal art education. Who knew that having a degree could close a door for you, LOL!

O.K. Would you like to be the server when he was at your table….this is another brilliant piece Cindy…I would love to see them in a slide show…

  • Thanks, Janis! I remember instructions on a slide show for Red Bubble, and I think when I was on Face Book I had one there, too, til they cut off the Face Book/Red Bubble connection, then it disappeared!

  • Thanks, Loui, wish I could say I was thinking when I did this, LOL, but it was pretty subconscious. Guess that is thinking.
