Ink and wash on cream colored paper, 5 × 7 inches. One of several sketches, some of which are also in the mammal series, that I did after attending a free demonstration of ink pens at a local art supply store. I love the brush you fill with water, very handy for washes. I still like my dip pen and bottle of ink, as well as ballpoint pens, but these are very handy and neat. I think I could take them most anywhere, even on the bus.

Of course the creature is wonderful, but I also like the subtlety of your washes – lots of depth and dimension here.

  • Thanks, Celeste!

“here me roar…” Fun, filling a brush (pen) up with water? Sounds like an interesting implement. Love the sketch.

  • Thanks!
