What you thought you knew about Clowns

This is the evite image supplied to me by the R. Pela Gallery, for a show I will have a painting in, in June 2013. (Poster designed by Todd Grossman.) I hope that if you’re in the Phoenix, Arizona area in June, that you’ll stop by. It promises to be a good show. I have it on good authority that I’m not the only artist in the show who hates clowns, (and whose work will reflect that). Should be interesting!

My painting, The Clown Eater

Sneak Preview, upcoming show

SNEAK PEEK AT UPCOMING WORK FOR “KLOWN”

First, I hate clowns.

This is a small section of a large painting titled The Clown Eater that I did for a themed show called “Klown,” this summer at R. Pela Gallery in downtown Phoenix. I’m not going to reveal the entire painting until the public press release is out for the show, which opens for First Friday and Third Friday art walks in June, 2013.

All I will tell you now is that I hate clowns, and something bad is happening to this clown, he’s being visited by a creature I first drew in the 80s, and that reappears in my work or doodles occasionally. (No, not a chicken!) About a month ago, Robrt Pela put out the call for clown-themed art for “Klown.” First thing I asked was, can bad things be hap

Big Changes

I’m in the process of editing my Redbubble site to make my portfolio smaller and more manageable. This is, of course, playing havoc with my inventory lists of original paintings and drawings for sale. Editing those lists is next on my agenda, now that I’ve done the bulk of the other editing.

One of the biggest changes, and one which I have resisted doing for months, is to cease selling many, (or any), reprints on Red Bubble. (I still have a couple of tee shirts up for sale but not sure for how long.)

Why? I had a problem with copyright infringement that was becoming a part time job.

It was sapping my time and energy, and therefore affecting my ability to be productive and happy, and to spend the time necessary to market my work to paying buyers. Despite sales, it actually be…

Large Fine Art prints: Big Chicken paintings (Giclees)

Bring a giant chicken, or a few, into your house or restaurant, etc!

Two of my most popular large chicken paintings are now available as full size high quality art prints, (aka “Giclee”)! Earlier this year I took these two to a company in Phoenix that has a huge room-sized Cruse scanner, and had them professionally scanned for the purpose of selling fine art prints. I am going to limit the sale of the largest (‘full size’) print to 1000 each, (plus probably one proof for myself). Below are my own snapshots (and no, my name won’t be across their middles on the actual prints). The professional scans are huge, high resolution images.

Originals; Drawings, Collage, Works on Paper; Price List

I’m in the process of editing my Redbubble site to make the portfolio smaller and more manageable. Some of these links are no longer active as a result. Also, for unknown reasons, even before I started editing my portfolio, the clickable images in this list were disappearing by themselves every so often, with no editing having been done to explain it. For this reason, until I find the problem I might have to resort to a boring list with no pictures.

Show update & Stuff

Last night, “Collections” opened at Willo North a show featuring several local artists that the curator of the show had purchased work from in the past. There was a very good turnout, and I sold “Ovine Joy,” (below)!

“The Hanging” is still available (last I knew!):

SALE PRICES STILL ON

As you may know from my previous journals, I’ve been inventorying my work, and putting at least 75% of it on sale, some as much as half off, to clear out space. In doing this it has been heartening to see that I have sold some things and have been doing a decent job of keeping a list of my work all along. All these organizational tasks are things…

UPDATE July 10 2012

Last night was the reception for CHOMP, the art show that my painting Hen Party is in (Journal with info on show.) It was a great show and reception, great food and people, in a wonderful setting. I finally got to hear Todd Grossman play piano; he’s very, very good. It was so hot out, and I had to ride the bus there because my husband was still at work, that I very nearly didn’t go. Am so glad that I did go. It would’ve been terrible to miss it.

Hen Party had a great s…
