Born in Melbourne in 1990, Crystal Knight is yet to call any other city home. She feels in her 19 years she is only just begging to get to know Melbourne and wouldn’t dream of leaving before they become better acquainted. In April 2010 ‘she made it into Melbourne’s heart’, the heart of Melbourne being Flinders street station where she exhibited at Platform Gallery. ‘Mirror mirror off the wall’ was an instillation aimed to expose mirrors as objects which are capable of altering appearances both visually and physically. With a background in both fashion and art, Crystal has been involved in numerous exhibitions. A piece entitled, ‘To put into words’ conveying how spoken word has the power to manipulate how individuals are perceived by others, won her the Emerging Artist award at the Red Earth Gallery in 2009. She is currently in her first year of a degree in Fine Art-Painting.
