The Picnic Part II
At a picnic one day… I craved the attention of someone who wasn’t willing to give it

And showing off the shirt that no one ever sees
By him are his friends and more
Mixing together laughing aloud
He shouldn’t only get to see them
In such a big crowd
And the crowd turns around as 20 odd people follow me down
And everyone is racing towards the people they’re facing
Amazing… he won
Ah but he’s got to wait til the others are done
This makes no sense, the way he’s being treated
The first to arrive but the last to be greeted
Maybe I wasn’t seen
Was I going too fast?
Why else would I…
Have been hugged last?
The new crowd turns around and 3 shining people start running down
They’re slowly racing to the people they’re facing
He thought they were done
But the people who shine come out of the sun
I finally get in but the feeling is gone
You’re just humouring me; Say hello then move on
Talk to another, you said that you would
But you moved on as well, leaving me where I stood
The crowds all spread out and 20 odd people start sitting down
Everyone’s embracing the people they’re facing
And everyone is having fun
But as for me, I am done
I take a bench and then I sit down
Nobody feels like running around
You’re the one that I should be chasing…
Is that me, who you are facing?
I thought you would never come
Oh… I’m sitting next to someone

Wonderful, Christopher. I am so glad you put this up. You really captured the feeling and it’s definitely something I can identify with. Well done.

Did you actually make this into a song?
I’ve definitely heard this sung, if only by Ross…

Oh, and I adore it by the way.
