Not Being Here

By not being here
You’re in your element
Which one are you?
Perhaps you’re iron
‘Cause this is a bit ironic

Judge me,
I ask the back of your head
You are a critic
You’re going crazy
Becoming hyper-critical

It’s a one way street
With two dead ends
Where nobody wins
But I always lose

It’s the story of my life
To be there when you’re gone
And miss you when you’re not
But I reflect the truth
You’re always gone
And I always miss you

I crave your ignorance
Your imperfections
The unquestionable manner
And you’re beauty
You’re full of it

It’s an endless race
20 minutes ahead
Means one day behind
And one step beyond

When I choose not to be here
Unknowing of where you are
Then it’s all over

Nice work. First two lines had me. Nice use of double-blinds to illustrate the often frustrating nature of relationships – ‘the problem of others’. Cool.
