Aboriginal Is Not Religion (abbr)

Been reading a lot of interesting, disturbing and even reactionary and derogatory POVs on RB in the last few days … it seems, war, religion, politics, racism, patriotism and such-like are hot-topics for quite a few amongst this artistic and creative fraternity … thought I’d throw-in a perspective that I wrote just on 6 years ago … cheers…

Aboriginal Is Not Religion (abbr) belongs to the following groups:

1 In The Beginning - Ancient Practices, All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Core [C.O.R.E], First Things, Spiritual Art, The Healing Journey and WMG

Aboriginality (aboriginal+reality) re-in-forces and represents “the Law”, not the laws of Man as such, but “the Principle” (or Law) of life and living.

We can all cite examples of the laws of government and religion — and thus of Man — and see how they have all-ways favoured the lawmakers, politicians, and religious enforcers, and thus one group against another. However, no matter how well intentioned, such laws discriminate, and in their application they usually empower the power-hungry at the further detriment and expense of the disempowered. Lawmakers, politicians and the pious as “power-brokers” make up a “triad of evil” that can be understood as all-ways saying, “these laws are for just-us” yet rarely ensuring nor enshrining justice. Also, such laws and teachings all-ways relate to the principles of humanism, which of their very nature cannot be inclusive of all life.

Aboriginal literally translates to the “absolute original” — the first known — below and beyond all other forms, and in the context of this country (Australia) and its original peoples (“the Aborigines”), it is not just a race or class of people, it can also refer to a state of being, a state of knowing, a Way of Living-Being — an adherence to knowing and living in a manner that maintains “ones” connection to all life — not just humans or “just-us”.

Aboriginal, in its essential implication, is not about separateness from some and acceptance to others.

The “ab origin” means “from the beginning” and trans-relates to the absolute-original-gene within the Aborigines of these lands, and in-term effectively recognises the “absolute original genesis” that is within all — the oneness, or source of beginnings of life that “links” all — “the original-gene-in-all” (genesis).

Aboriginal is the knowing of the origins and the Law of Life that is implicit in all of life, not “just-us”.

Aboriginal really cannot be interpreted logically, nor rationalised or intellectualised, no matter our need or reason to do so; It is an experience and a “knowing”, as It is original, and therefore beyond the limitations and confines of words themselves.

In my case, even though I had a “Christian” father; a Muslim Grandfather (maternal); an Anglo-Germanic (Euro) Australian Grandfather (paternal); an Aboriginal-Irish Grandmother…—

...I remain uncomfortable and “disturbed” whenever I am being imposed upon to describe who am I — more so, when being forced to choose, “which side I’m on”. It is not that easy to make such choices for people such as a “mixed-breed” as I — I could say I am all of these and yet none of these. I could also say without confusion nor contradiction, that I am one-of-all; an absolute original (ab-boriginal) that is all.

In effect, in our contemporary language, “origin” means just that — the point of beginning — to which in a 3 dimensional world/reality such as ours, the coordinates or point of origin is mathematically written as 0,0,0. At that point and beyond no-thing can make sense, and being “ab-origine” cannot “make sense” either.

May I suggest that none of us stop at any particular religion; continue the search for your origene, your “aboriginality” reality — go through and beyond any religion that you may embrace to the source, to the Seed, beyond the separateness, the split, the alien-nation, and the limitations of humanism — go to “the Law” — the Principle — not the war of Saddam-Islam or Adam-Christian or Abraham-Judean or any “other” that binds and limits Aboriginality in this country (Australia) or the “aborignality” within one’s Self.

Go “deeper” into, not further a-way from “The Law” — the “Dreaming” — the Tjukurritja Tjukurrpa (the “Dreamtime Story”).

This is my expression and understanding … for now … though I remain open to change …

Salaam in One and Namaste …

Good piece Crowmanic….. What are you views on the Introduction of the United nations Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Persons. Do you feel it is of worth or just another example of discrimination ? Do you feel it will be as completely ignored as is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ?...... Strange how the ‘Intervention” in the Northern Territory was introduced 2 months before it was ratified, and how the Australian government negated the Racial Discrimination Laws to do it..

Thanks Gregory ... as for your questions… so many in such a small space! _ however, in my view, it is a compromised, unworkable, tokenised document, made by humans for humans hence “humanism” prioritised … it also can be ignored or over-ridden at any time, in any country, by legislation and whatever is deemed as being in the “national” interests; usually of economic motives or corporate dictate. Also most “indigenous cultures/people” are now so “corrupted” from gene-rational (generational) enculturation1^ and _outside influences and contamination the individuals themselves have lost the meaning, essentialness, and intelligence of the “Law” and principles of Life of “aboriginality” as it relates to Life and living.

(perhaps if you had “Skype” or similar, I could talk with you at some via Net … or if important/interested enough, give me a number (via direct/private email) and I can phone, we’ll chat and say g’day? (I’ll leave that with you to decide. Cheers… and thanks for commenting and interest …

1^ enculturation is the process whereby an established culture teaches an individual by repetition its accepted norms and values, so that the individual can become an accepted member of the society and find their suitable role. Most importantly, it establishes a context of boundaries and correctness that dictates what is and is not permissible within that society’s framework.

It is the process of learning that takes the person and teaches him or her the ways of life of their people or country. It is a life-long process, affecting not only the child, but the adult too. Enculturation is learned through communication in the form of speech, words, and gestures. The six things of culture that are learned are: technological, economic, political, interactive, ideological and world view.

Thanks Crowmanic. No worries on the number. I haven’t got Skype.

Enculturation sounds very much like hypnotic induction on the sociological level, taken to the masses….

    Perfectly understood….
Words segregate….you know that. The ab-original now is a sort of “group”....a more or less numbered group of human creatures… so the dimension changes when one is looking for what I understad as the “Essence”. I have always deplored the rapacious heart of the human beings when they submmit, colonize, violent and even destroy other ab-originalities…. loosing contact with their own. Who are they?....My grand grand parents that slaughtered the incas and mayas…. left… after their own weakening…? The Mayflowered people who fighted for their “right” to impose their beleives and “democratic” systems and laws to the Native American People… here in my country… a real tiny one…Basque Country… many people are murdered because some … about 15 per cent or so… and specially a bunch of fanatics beleive that they are ab-original and the other are murders and should leave this country in order to be governed by the faithful to the blood and customs of this land… Well…and we even being here are somehow outcasts… and try to live the pathway as individuals… and look for our intimate ab-originality.. I cannot find it.. that’s why I feel related to your words… related to many other causes and pray to become more evolutioned and become…. what we really are….ab-original…yes Thanks a lot.. you write damm well…..clear and illustrated. It is a pleasure to read you. You have the mind-heart of an honest journalist…
