So this is Christmas, And what have we done
Another war over, And another begun

And so this is Christ-mess, And we rule with a gun
The further from here, The old and the young
Still living in fear

A very merry Christ-mess, And a profitable New Year
Let’s hope it’s a rich one, though riddled with fear
And so this is Christmas, For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones, our way is so wrong

And so forgotten Christ-mass, For black and for white,
For yellow and red ones, Let’s believe we’re all right

A very merry Christmess, And a deluded New Year
We hope we can win one, Without shedding tears

And so this is Christmas, And what have we done
Another war over, And another one just begun

Ans so this is Christ-mass, and we’ve had our fun
while the near and the dear ones
The old and the young, Still scream in their blood

A very merry Christ-mess
And a prosperous New Year
Let’s hope it’s a rich one, As we profit from fear …

~ Altered lyrics from the original song, by John Lennon, “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)”

Unfortunately the war(s) are not over, and the essence of Christmas is as a forgotten paradigm for many, as its symbols lay decaying in ruins, hidden from common view, by the vines of untruth, entangled in minds conditioned to rationalise injustices as rights.

Very powerful re-write on a popular song this year. Christ mass mess war etc. Everyone wants to blame Christ-ones for the war. What about the majority on earth that are ~christ-ones? What are they doing to fix the world mass mess etc.?
YOUR WORDS are something for ALL of US to think about.

  • I have used the “we” as generic, collective throughout… and I am not saying one or another is at fault. It is meant to provoke/encourage all of us to think pass the surface… the words are to compliment the image, not the other way ’round. I feel the real “war” is the one that is going on “within” all of us regarding such matters and our choices. Thanks for commenting, as always…

Ah yes! I certainly did not mean “you” so much as all of us in general. I was so stunned by the image, as I am by so much of your work, that I did not even comment. I think we are on the same page but my words are getting in the way here.
