Back To Biggleswade
These were lyrics to a song I wrote back in 1992!
It was a Noel Coward style pastiche that I still enjoy today.
Sat in a cafe on a rainy kind of day
I was watching all the people scurry by.
A tubby lady past me, she really looked quite ghastly,
and a horrid growth was hanging from her eye.
T’was peculiar, it was quite obscene,
it was quite the most horrific thing I’d ever seen.
I could make us both a fortune on the silver screen,
..”just sign here and leave the rest to me!”
We made a motion picture based upon this strange affliction
and it grossed a million dollars in a week.
We split the profits equal and decided on a sequel
but the growth started to heal and wouldn’t leak
That’s so typical, that’s the way things are
I could have made a fortune in the cinema
I might have lived in sunny California
But it’s back to Biggleswade I go…
