They do cover copyright in their terms.. is there any way of seeing who submitted the items?
“In connection with User Submissions, you further agree that you will not:
submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant Polyvore all of the license rights granted herein; (ii) publish falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage Polyvore or any third party; “
Crokus Label, 9 months ago
They should not accept works from redbubble or any other site then… They should block incoming content that comes from such sites…
Thanks Terry for the info…
I am still at war though… lol
Halima Mitchell, 9 months ago
I’m uncertain what type of site this is, but I’d recommend contacting copyright@polyvore.com to file your complaint. I found that on their terms under “User Submissions”. I created a screenshot to help anyone locate the user(s) that submitted these photos from RB. Click here—>

Oops that link isn’t working right. Try this on

I filed a complaint… here it is… (sorry for my madness here… it got out of me like this.

Sorry that I didn’t get to know about your site in any other manner, but here I am, pretty upset.
I am member to a site named RedBubble, which I really love and enjoy.
Here, I see that many pictures from friends of mine at redbubble are being hosted here.
RedBubble is a site to sell artwork, photography and many different artistic produces of people’s originality and authenticity.
Redbuble ask of us to only upload our best work, and to be the rightful owners of our works.
The standard is very high. Quality is a must…
And I very much so doubt that redbubblers are happy about seing their art on your site, and that without their permissions.
Why don’t you ask of people to upload their own stuff then… It is easy to grasp.. if someone can upload a work to another site, they can upload it to yours too…
and if they are the rightful owners of these works and have them on THEIR own computer, then they can choose to share it with your site.
I find this inacceptable, and would ask that you remove, and refuse, all works coming from the Redbubble in mark of respect…
Also, it would be greatly appreciated that the people/person that have uploaded this be made public, for these are money generating uploads that are found on RedBubble…
I will be awaiting for a reply in a short delay, as well as the removal of those copyrighted images.
Otherwise, I will find myself in the obligation to bring the situation to a higher level.
Regards,
Crokus Label Photography, friend of many on RedBubble.com

And here is a PETITION I just wrote… Please come, read and sign…
Together we can do it… :)
ECGardner, 9 months ago
I found three of my images on their site, as well as many that I recognize (honestly I recognized most of them). I sent them a message informing them that they were engaging in copyright violation for not only my work, but the work of others as well. I requested that the images be removed, as well as any works on their site that used them. I imagine they will comply, as I’m certain they do not want to face massive copyright infringement suits. Thanks so much Crokus and also funkyfacestudio for spreading the word about this.
Henk Stolk, 9 months ago
Message I sent today to them:
I was told you do use work from redBubble, without informing artists, nor pay royalites. THis is so absurd and I ask you to stop this now.
If I see my work is (ab)used by your site, I will take legal actions.
Regards,
Henk Stolk
Henk Stolk, 9 months ago
hahaha but then again.. I have so much to learn so before my work is ever on their site, I will smile as well, would take it as a compliment and still give them hell! :)
Crokus Label, 9 months ago
Great Henk… :)
here is the link to the
PETITION
Together we can.
(Please also add the following to your signature, for it is a great idea, and I didn’t write it in the petition… it will have more power. and there is the following…
—-“For the past, present and future i prohibit the use of my images without my consent – any requests for use should be made in writing.”
ECGardner, 9 months ago
I just did a search for ‘deviantart’ and found 22 pages’ worth of material from that site. I know some people on RB also have deviantart accounts, so if you do, please check to make sure your work wasn’t stolen from there, as well.

Great work crokus and funkyfacestudio. When can we send the boys round to sort them out? Joking aside a larger watermark would make it far more difficult to perpetrate this crime.

I noticed 5000 loaded from ISTOCKPHOTO, they will not like this at all, maybe they’ll have a go at itm, they seem to be VERY sensitive about copyrights and are professional at all times, I am going to email them a link, almost noone at IPHOTO would play at a site like Polyvore… these people are professionals mostly.

To whom it may concern at ISTOCKPHOTO
Polyvore is a wierd site that let’s users post works from all over the Web as long as they have a url. I noticed they are using 1000’s of your pieces, for their use the available image is sufficient. The site gives lip service to the fact that user’s shouldnt post anything they dont have copyrights to but that is a total joke. I am member of a site called Redbubble where members are pretty upset about use of their work. Hopefully ISTOCKPHOTO would add their voice to this discussion.
Crokus Label, 9 months ago
Thnks Dominic… :) this is great..
Sorry guys and gals, I will have to leave the homestead for a few moments… But please keep on forwarding the link to the petition which is http://www.redbubble.com/people/crokuslabel/writing/266182-petition-to-stop-copyright-theft-at-polyvore-com
Or if you rather click on it, it is HERE
Will be back a little later on… life is calling me elsewhere… :)
Much Freedom, Peace, Love, Light, Respect and Honor to all.
Dominic Melfi, 9 months ago
I am a little confused, they may have cut a deal with ISTOCKPHOTO, they have 62,000 images from ISTOCK that have the ISTOCK logo across them and claim they are royalty free. (logo stays on when user makes a design) Maybe ISTOCK thinks it is good publicity.
Apparently these polyvore members take STUFF from all over the web and create designs, so that get shoes, tables etc etc from on-line stores and all other kind of stuff, then lay it on with your artwork, actually kind of like a cut and paste clip/art shop. Once it is on the polyvore site, I guess (I’m not sure) it becomes available to all members.
Crokus Label, 9 months ago
I’ll be back shortly… please keep on forwarding the link to the petition so we get as many as we can to let them know that we are many to disapprove of their usage of our works… :)
Gotta go for now… see you all soon. Petition

Sent to Polyvore feedback
I am a member of redbubble, your site encourages copyright infringement by providing tools to import other persons work easily into your site. All works on Redbubble are copyrighted and protected intellectual property. The members of this site are not happy to find property of members galleries on your site without their permission. It would be advisable to block redbubble from your tools. I would encourage you to do this voluntarily. If your users want to use copyrighted work they can download it to their own computers and you can provide an upload. In this way you are not a party to the intelectual infringements. As it is the tools you provide make you a party to this activity.

Apparently, my moon glo image was stolen because I got notified by my friends here on this site, but I went to check it out and didn’t see it there. I guess they removed it. sigh...I can’t even sell one damn card here and my image gets stolen. I’ve only been on this site one week. How sad?

the sets

Here is a portion of their service agreement:”

Well – there’s a fine reason to GIVE US A REASONABLE WATERMARK!!!!
Sara Lamond, 9 months ago
Hopefully RedBubble is listening…
Sara Lamond, 9 months ago
ok guys…. i’m searching all of the links you’ve put up here -can’t find any reference to redbubble at all now… have the nice redbubble people spoken sternly to them? or am i just searching wrong.
Still – really highlights the copyright/watermark issue. I’m willing to bet everyone who’s found their work on this site would support the option for a bigger more obvious watermark!
Matt Sillence, 9 months ago
Nor me now, think they havae got the message
Simon Turner, 8 months ago
the problem is users are submiting the works, the save their bottoms by saying that you must not import anything that is copyrighted (like 99 % of images by law) but I bet once a users has imported it the user (probsbly unknown) is responsable for the theft and they can claim the altered work as theirs WE NEED A WATER MARK OVER THE IMAGES, if a user of RB really wants to see it without a water mark they should contack us and ask
