Yes Percy… It is the same thing I guess… but I tried this for the first time this week… it is a “notion” that some call “Orton” here… apparently because the guy that started that (in old style photography) was called “orton”... I thought that I should give it a try… :) Thanks for the comment… :) And the appreciation… :)
lol… Thanks Georgiegirl and Hank… Georgiegirl, you made me laugh when you came back to say that you found out… lol I guess that you know now… ;) Thank you both for your kind comments.. :)
I love the softness that you got with the Orton technique! It really gives the shot a classical feel. Now I’m inspired to try it with my butterfly shots. :)
Photogenique, andy and EcGardner I am so glad you all like this “ortoned” version… and I am glad that it allows for inspiration… let me know ECGardner when you get your “orton” butterflies… :) Thanks for the greatness that you all share… :)
Well, you most definitely got the ‘dreamy’ look, how gorgeous, it’s so lovely, a bit vintage or something because its so soft?!, I too am inspired by the ‘Ortoning’ it’s a very interesting effect, I love it, Into my faves it goes!!
Great shot by the way, i noted you said it was your first time photographing butterflies?, I have also just started to take butterfly shots, but i have had them coming into the house!, i’ve yet to take any on flowers!! Soon, soon. You did VERY well indeed, i’m impressed.
Very Beautiful Image. I know how tricky these lil guys can be to photograph as they are very fast and don’t rest for very long. You did a great job in your capture of this guy. Great work.
