Wow!! I didn’t expect to see an image of Colonia (Uruguay) on Redbubble by another RB member. I was born in Uruguay and I visited Colonia in 2008. It is a small town but full of history and also very beautiful. Muy linda foto Carlos!!
Never say never ever…!!! lol… I went there also on Oct 2008. Me encantó, es un lugar como para retirarte y solo disfrutar de la tranquilidad del lugar… Es super rico BUT!!!! you won’t find open restaurants in noon, weird, isn’t it?
I love the peacefulness of Colonia too; it has a special vibe that is unique to Uruguay as it’s not yet bombarded by tourism. When I went, the restaurants were opened at noon, but I guess that is because I went in the middle of Summer when there are more people around. This is something typical in Uruguay. Everything is very quiet and suddenly comes to life in the Spring and Summer months! Saludos Carlos.
