Ode to the Moon

I wrote this back when I was in college.

Ode to the Moon belongs to the following groups:

The Healing Journey

Oh Moon, my Moon,
tripping the sky,
slash me with thy wicked tongue—
teach me, make me fly!

Oh Moon, my Moon,
with thy burnished glow,
mock the sun (its awakening, slow)
then laugh thyself to sleep
as Daylight comes…

Oh Moon, my Moon,
I beg of thee: Unfurl thy wings
and take me away
from such earthly things!
Roll down thy feathered soul
and sweep me away…

Oh Moon, my Moon:
I await thy ghastly glow
with phantoms in the graveyard
forever if I must do so
to bequeath my heart—
my love for thee!
Thy dark-angel love shall be me.
