Doing some work at home when I took a break and walk outside to find the sun hitting these tree with nice dark clouds around. Grabbed my IR converted 5D mark II with the 180mm Macro attached and got 4-5 shots off before it was all gone.
Handheld IR converted Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Canon Lens EF 180 mm f3.5 Macro USM
Focal length 180 mm (234mm equivalent @ 1.3 crop)
F/3.5
Exposure 1/100 sec
Exposure compensation: + 1 stops.
Picture mode: Standard
ISO – 100
Shooting mode – manual
Metering mode – Pattern
White Balance – Auto
Late afternoon light.

Best viewed large.

    You’re cookin’ now with the IR mate. You are hooked. Once you spot the light like this and go for the IR DSLR and not the Mark IV you’re away.

  • I need to get in the habit of carrying at least one of them with me at all times. Now I have my nifty ‘over the shoulder camera holder’ I have no excuse.

  • Thanks Wendi. Yes, I know, now I feel I really have to perform!! IR is a funny beast, the rule book is small……..because they are still writing it. So a lot of experimenting.
