On a recent trip to India, my wife and I visited the Taj Mahal. If you know India, you will know there are touts everywhere. Well in Agra, there seems to be more…probably due to the high number of tourists there. We had bought some jewellery off this boy earlier in the day. We were leaving Agra to head back to Delhi when Alison decided she wanted some more jewellery and asked the driver to head back to see if we could find the same boy.
He was not there so we decided to do a quick lap of the block and he found us….knocked on the window of the car as we were about to leave. Alison was busy negotiating with him through the window of the car so I got the camera out. I got four shots off. He looked up for a split second and just looked straight down the barrel.

Wow, 4 comments in a row from the same dude! Reason? I finally figured out why this photo sticks in my mind …. this guy is a dead ringer for David Byrne of Talking Heads !!!

  • Hmmm, maybe a young David Byrne and then after a few wines…..or a smoke:-)

Excellent portrait Crispin! Saw it last night on Peteer’s MAC, wow, really good! Great sharpness in the eyes and front hair and fall off into sortness, very good use of that great lens! (At first I thought it was your 85mm) I don’t seem to have enough chances to use it! Well done, Fav for me!

Hi Tati, thank you. It is hard to get pin sharp images with that lens and I find moving back/forward gently after initial focus will get it spot on. I know this should not be the case with this expensive equipment but Canon do have a bit of catching up to do on that front!! Apparently they have fixed it on the 1D Mark IV.
See you Saturday morning, white with one please :-)
