Spent some time with the Black Glass (HMC NDX400 filter) on my 70-200mm lens today. Boy what a lot of fun I had.
This was taken about 11:30 am so the sun was up and bright. This filter really opens up a lot of avenues for shooting in bright light………amongst other things.
Malua Bay, South coast of NSW, Australia.
This was a 30 sec exposure at f32. Spot metering, ISO 50, exposure comp -1.33 Mirror lock up with cable release. Lens EF 70-200mm F2.4L IS USM Canon 5D Mark II
f32! Holy cow, that must have been real bright. Love how the rocks can be seen just below the water!
Well, we do have sunshine down here mate unlike in Sydney at present:-). But yes, it was very bright and bloody hot but there was a nice sea breeze. Learning to love the BG……I’m coming over to the DARK SIDE.

Hi Pene. Happy New Year. You’ll have a lot of fun with the 400. Yes, did notice the spots……too bleading lazy to clean the photo but camera has been sorted. And not cheeky at all :-)
