With all it’s leaves fallen, this naked tree presented a great photo opportunity. Taken from Observatory Hill in Sydney just as the sun has set.

The colors in this photo are beautiful! did you use the 180MM lens you brought along that Saturday with the group?

Thanks Jesse, it was a spectacular evening and the tree was great. Used my 70-200 2.8 L IS USM at a focal length of 110mm, f2.8, exposure 1/1000 sec. Did have the lense with me on Saturday but didn’t use it.

I saw a bare tree with an interesting shape on my lone hike in the snowy Chugach Mountains yesterday, but didn’t know how to capture it. This is a beautiful shot with the sunset colours, Crispin.
Thank Jan. This was taken on the second to final night of a digital SLR course I was on last year and it was a cold evening.
