Ducking Across The Yellow Brick Road.
Peter Hill and I visited the Botanical Gardens in Sydney on Sunday for some photography. I wanted to show this path from….well, a ducks point of view when lo and behold who should just waddle straight through shot, Mr duck and friends. This one was bringing up the rear. Didn’t quite catch it in the line of focus but I quite like the way it blends in as it does.
Canon EOS 5D

Thanks for looking – best viewed large.

I wish I had taken a shot of you taking this shot! But I was too busy making sure I didn’t drip drool over the 85mm f1.2 L !! The DOF is just awesome, and I can’t believe that duck actually got into the field of focus !! Great title btw! This has just blown away any thought I had of showing my measly yellow path, no DOF, no duck.

Thanks Peter. You know we’ll have to do it all again when we get the Mark II”s. Might have to make it a mid week night shoot with dinner/beers afterwards.
C’mon, I want to see the ‘Measly Yellow Path, No DOF, NO Duck’ shot. I’m sure it will get some of those lovely comments we were talking bout over coffee.

great title and shot! and the tripod would be a more dignified way to go!
Crispin Gardn... replied
Thank you stillme. It was a damp pathway with lots of duck droppings so the tripod was very handy but more so the angle finder so I didn’t have to lie down!!
