UPDATE, Nov. 2011: Originally posted a year ago in Dec 2010, this has largely been ignored on RB, picking up only 99 views as of today (11/19). Interestingly enough, however, the same design has become one of my best sellers on Zazzle … with copies going, among other places, to France, Sweden, and the UK. Go figure. Sometimes I wonder why I stay in RB, but then I remember the wonderful sense of community, which I do not experience on any other site, even Facebook.
………………………………………….

Long story short (IF I can manage that) is that this came about because, still, I am trying to clean and declutter my house and, toward that, I have of late been going though old boxes and drawers and things that have not been opened since I moved into the house. I ran across an old tin container into which I had stashed some of my favorite old jewelry, and I found rings that I had been remembering fondly for years.

Among this stash was a lovely sky blue stone mounted as a pendant, with a delicate gold bail; coincidently, not long after, I also found a 16 inch fine gold chain, the end of which fit perfectly into the bail of the blue topaz. I put the necklace on and was so pleased with it that I think I won’t bother taking it off. The stone nestles perfectly into the hollow of my throat.

I knew that sky blue is one of the chakra colors, but I wasn’t sure which one, so I looked it up and, guess what … sky blue is the color of the throat chakra. That got me to looking up information on the internet about the colors, position, and the properties of the other six chakras, and it occurred to me this should be in a chart.

It took me three days to work on this. It isn’t perfect. If I weren’t afraid my computer would freeze up on me unexpectedly before I can save large works, I might have thought, before flattening the layers, to rearrange the order of the text blocks around the perimeter to a more logical sequence. But, over all, I am happy with the result.

What I am passionate about, in regards to this, is tolerance, curiosity, and openness to acknowledge that there may be more than one path to spirituality.

This is fascinating Ginny, thanks for the lesson in Chakras – looks wonderful too!

  • THANK you for commenting, Georgie; I’m so glad you like it. There is, of course, a lot more information about chakras that could have gone on there, but at least it is enough to spark someone’s interest to do more research on their own. Someone complimented me on my necklace yesterday, and I said thank you, it’s a throat chakra, and she looked confused. Well I know things about yoga that she doesn’t know, and she knows things about skydiving that I’ll never know … I’m not sure that makes us even.

SOLD!!! Not on RB, unfortunately … or is it unfortunate? Not for me. I posted this here and on zazzle at the same time, and someone just bought a print. Whatever works, right?
