Artist's Description

This may have subconsciously been created as a tribute to the moth in “Bunny,” an animated short film by Chris Wedge, which, after searching for years, I finally acquired on DVD.

I am a huge fan of animation anyway, and this short film of an old lady rabbit trying to bake a cake while being distracted by an annoying moth (as well as by nostalgic memories of her youth and departed husband) is sooo poignant. I don’t want to give it away, but the moth is a very special visitor who leads the old bunny into a mystic blue light. My Mystic Moth definitely echoes that story’s ending. By the time the song comes on with the ending screen titles, I am always sobbing. Geeze, I’m tearing up right now, just thinking about it.
