Blue Dress Dancing by Ginny Schmidt

Blue Dress Dancing by

Also taken at the Gulfport Casino on a Wednesday Swing night, this lady did not let a sprained wrist inhibit her enjoyment of the moment. Her skirt twirls prettily as her partner spins her.

CARD BUYERS, take note that RB cropping cuts off the lady’s eye. I normally would deselect the card option if cropping is too severe, but even though I like the eye, the picture can live without it … at least the dress is intact.

However, I quite like the black bordered laminated print version:

Thank you both. Wanna know something funny? Her dress is actually red, but I was looking for the best contrast of shading in the fabric, and it came out clearest in this bright blue. I appreciate your validation that changing the color was not a mistake.

blue fits here, i think the lady has the air further than red , which is too common nowadays; so makes this photo special.

Wonderful work. I love the selective color and the graininess of this work. It gives it an aged appearance.

Thanks, everyone. Helen, thank you for commenting on the graininess. I thought that the dress had a somewhat vintage aspect to it and wanted to make the scene look like it could have come from another era.
