This was shot from the end of the Municipal Pier in downtown St. Petersburg, FL, a summer or so ago. People fish off the sides of the pier, and the pelicans are used to being tossed little treats, so they like to lounge nearby and keep an eye on things.
Rec’d this notice in my overview page this morning (25 July 09), and it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Have had this pic up in my RB portfolio for a couple of years now, but have only just started submitting some of my older works to groups.
Thank you Susan. I’m glad you like the color. This picture was taken at the same time and place as the adjacent pelican pictures. I processed two of them with the actual deep green color of the water, and for the other two, this one and Posted, I tinkered with the hue and saturation. Each of these two pictures had a definite preference for the color they wanted to be … I was only happy to oblige.
