Mullioned Windows by Ginny Schmidt

In a small sunroom on the side of Ca d’Zan, John Ringling’s Sarasota, Florida, mansion, these windows show a glimpse of the ornate front of the house. Photo taken while waiting for the next group tour to start; was a bit bored waiting and just started snapping for the heck of it. When I downloaded the pictures, I thought this was kinda funky. I love the Ringling mansion, and would love to go back in time to stay a while as the guest of John and Mabel. Presented pretty much as it came off the camera.

Here’s a shot of the front of the house.

Squares, yes. Parallel to the edges, no. A genius thought.

I have been here and looked out this very window

  • I don’t know why this piece is as popular as it is, but I am happy to hear from a fello Ringling fan. If there only was a way to go back in time, I would love to be a weekend guest of John and Mabel’s in that house. OR, if one could reincarnate backward, I would go back and BE Mabel, except she did die fairly young, after living in this fabulous house for, I think, less than a year. Poor John.
