Hurricane Season by Ginny Schmidt

Hurricane Season by

As a Floridian, this is the time of year that makes me nervous. The destructive force of a hurricane makes my imagination come up with some awful scenarios. My mom always told me don’t holler ‘til you’re hit, but when one of these monsters is churning its way across the ocean, I can’t help but be anxious.

Very nice graphic image Ginny. The girl on the weather channel told us the other week that due the low southern swept of the Santa Anna winds that we wouldn’t have a bad season at all.

  • Wow, thanks for that news, Jim. I guess my roof is safe for another year.

    Ginny,
I just started to look at your work, this one is awesome! I looks like stained glass. I see reference to land form-like a satellite image. It’s beautiful.

  • Sarah, thank you so much. I was really pleased with this one, but it hasn’t been getting too much attention. I am very happy that you picked up on the “satellite image” aspect.

I like this a lot. I’ve always thought those weather radar images had potential: Is that where this began?

  • Thanks, Eldon, maybe in my subconcious … I seldom plan these things; usually i am the medium and they form themselves
