An abstract composition resulting from the mangling of a perfectly lovely photograph of some Bird of Paradise flowers planted outside the door at my dentist’s office. The more gnarly this became, the better I liked it for some reason. To me, the hot, moist colors evoke the aura of a steamy tropical jungle, and I expect to hear the caw of a distant parrot or catch the motion out of the corner of my eye of a long, dark shape slithering out of sight. Be careful where you step.

The title, Paradise Revisited, stemmed from the original image, Birds of Paradise, which was retired some time ago because it did not attract sufficient views.
I show it here to demonstrate the source of the abatract. However, looking at the abstract on its own, without the reference of the source picture, I feel that it suggests a fire in a jungle or a hot, steamy rain forest … can a rain forest burn? I’m not sure. But I decided to append Jungle Fire to the title of the piece.
