Double Pink, 2003 watercolor by Ginny Schmidt

My first serious attempt at watercolor. Modeled on a flower that I photographed in the parking lot at my doctor’s office. Hibiscus is my favorite flower anyway, and I love the plain old red ones, but the depth of the red in the heart of this double pink flower inspired me to try to capture it in paint.
