Artificial Boundaries

I really hate to put so much work into something and then post
it as “Untitled.” Sometimes I just can’t thing of anything to call it,
but I will try my darndest to come up with a name. While I was contemplating this, I saw an aerial view of rooftops and city streets below. It made me think of the lengths we go through to compartmentalize ourselves and to protect our personal space with barriers, both concrete and emotional. Don’t get me wrong: civilization is good … I like my creature comforts. But I have always been able to feel lonely in a crowd.

    Thanks, Karen, and everyone above. As far as inspiration, it is all just serendipity; I get an urge and start playing with colors, and pretty much just see what will happen. More times than not, even tho the process is therapeutic, the result is a just a pure mess, and gets deleted. Sometimes I’m not sure, and I will save it to ponder whether I should put it up or not. But when I’m done, if I can look at it and think that’s pretty cool, I want to share it. Glad you like it.

    this looks like a blueprint for an office environment that you added some real quality too…. probably the only place that could happen to a blueprint for a corporate office setting. It’s absolutely beautiful.

    Thank you, Nancy. Now that you mention it, it is not all that different from the cubicle layout drawn up when my old office was remodeling.

    I learned a song as a child called little boxes…
    There’s a blue one, and a yellow one, and they are all made out of ticky tacky, ???
    Little boxes, little boxes , and they all look just the same.
    That made me think of society and civilisation even though we lived in the outback of Australia in a caravan.
    No I don’t know who or why this song is, I was nine.

    This hangs together beautifully.

    Names are hard work and can colour the perception of the audience a little too much sometimes, although it is always surprising to me how many people need them to hang an image on. So I do try hard to find the right one most of the time.
