The Little Chapel

The Little Chapel

I used to live in a lovely 55+ mobile home park that backed onto the Pinellas bicycle trail, from which one could ride to the Seminole KOA campground. The little chapel at the KOA was so sweet, I had to paint it. I must have taken three dozen photos of it, from every imaginable angle, in order to put together a composite on which to model this watercolor painting. The original was a gift to my wonderful cousin Cathy and her wonderful husband Bill, and I am proud and happy to see our little chapel displayed in the livingroom of their Largo home when I visit.

This picture makes me happy because it reminds me of sunny, carefree days shortly after I first retired, when my mom was alive and my cousin lived close by, and we could get on our bikes and ride the Pinellas trail and enjoy the shady beauty of the KOA campground.

Thanks very much, Bud. It’s a darling little chapel - with a pulpit and seating for about eight people max - so picturesque. I’m not into camping, myself, so I don’t know if this kind of thing is standard at other KOAs, but the campground at Seminole is lovely. My watercolor of Lake Seminole is also from that KOA.
